Body camera footage documented the moment a rescue team located a family of three sheltering in their damaged home as floodwaters submerged portions of Uvalde county, Texas. A helicopter crew successfully airlifted the girl to safety whilst informing the family that a second aircraft would shortly arrive to evacuate them.

The rescue operation occurred amid a broader flooding event affecting central Texas that has claimed at least two lives. The region's vulnerability to catastrophic flooding was underscored by the fact that the same area experienced devastating flash floods just months prior, which resulted in more than 130 deaths.
