Birmingham will mark the first anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne's death with "Ozzy Day," a city-wide celebration of live music, public art and film screenings on 22 July. The event, organised by Birmingham City Council alongside Outdoor Places Unusual Spaces, honours the Black Sabbath frontman's roots in the city and comes exactly a year after he died aged 76 following a heart attack at his Buckinghamshire home, just weeks after his farewell Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park.

Festivities will take place at locations tied to Osbourne's life, including the Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, New Street Station, the Bullring, Selfridges and Martineau Place. Highlights include a lunchtime performance by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, an "Ozzy the Bull" statue at the train station, and pop-up sets from Bostin Brass, the band that played at his funeral procession. Specially commissioned digital films and a limited-edition T-shirt, sold at Selfridges, will also feature, while Osbourne's wife Sharon has separately confirmed his Ozzfest festival is set to return in 2027.
