Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has suggested the band could return to live performance in 2027, hinting at a possible residency-style approach rather than a traditional tour. The comments come as the group enjoys the success of their new album Foreign Tongues, which has just become their 15th number one in the UK, underlining that the Stones remain a major commercial force more than six decades into their career.

Speaking to Billboard for a cover story interview, Richards said the band were considering "a different way of taking the thing on the road," floating the idea of bringing audiences to them rather than embarking on a conventional tour. He explained that the priority this year had simply been to release the record without rushing, adding "I see no reason why next year" shows couldn't happen, though no dates or firm plans have yet been confirmed.
