Welsh rock legend Bonnie Tyler, who passed away on July 8 at the age of 75, will be honoured with a public farewell in her home country. Her family has invited members of the public to line Newton Road in Mumbles on August 15 to pay respects as her coffin passes through the area, followed by a celebration of life service on August 17 at Swansea Minster. The procession will later travel through Skewen, the village where she grew up, before a private family service.

Tyler's career spanning over fifty years produced 18 studio albums and established her as an iconic figure in pop-rock music, defined by her distinctive smoky, weathered voice. Her signature hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks in 1983 and remains one of the defining recordings of the decade. Beyond chart success, her songs became embedded in global popular culture through radio, concert stages, karaoke venues, and film soundtracks. She represented the United Kingdom at Eurovision in 2013 and was appointed an MBE in 2023 for her services to music.
