The Fringe at Tramlines is Sheffield’s free festival-within-a-festival. While the main event fills Hillsborough Park, nearly five hundred free gigs take over the rest of the city from 23rd to 26th July 2026: pubs turning into all-day venues, breweries and beer halls booking swing bands, DIY spaces running punk marathons, gardens hosting folk sessions, and the open-air Fringe Stage on Devonshire Green anchoring it all.
No wristbands, no fences and, with a handful of ticketed exceptions, nothing to pay: just walk in. Tramlines is Sheffield's main music festival, held each summer in Hillsborough Park. Alongside it runs the Fringe, a separate strand of free events that takes place across the wider city rather than inside the festival grounds.
