A leaked Amazon Japan listing suggests the Nintendo Switch 2 version of IO Interactive's 007 First Light will launch on 16th September, filling in a release date that had previously only been described as "sometime in summer". The Switch 2 edition was notably absent when the game launched on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in May, fuelling speculation about how the demanding action title would be adapted for Nintendo's less powerful console, so a firmer date gives fans a clearer sense of when the port will finally arrive.

The listing has stayed live and unchanged since being spotted by users on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, though IO Interactive itself has yet to show the Switch 2 version running, meaning a first look is likely in August. Senior licensing producer Theuns Smit said last month the team was seeing "really good progress" on optimisation without giving specifics, while stressing the port needed to meet the quality players expect. The original release has performed strongly, with IOI reporting 2.7 million copies sold in its first week and studio director Hakan Abrak later suggesting the figure was nearer 3 million; the game has also just received its first major patch on other platforms, adding bug fixes and new TacSim missions.
