10 Cloverfield Lane, the 2016 sci-fi horror debut of director Dan Trachtenberg, has returned to streaming on Paramount+ ten years after its release. The renewed attention comes as Trachtenberg has become a key figure in the Predator franchise, having directed Prey, the animated Predator: Killer of Killers, and most recently Predator: Badlands, with the film's return offering fans a chance to revisit the work that first signalled his talent for revitalising established franchises.

The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Michelle, held in an underground bunker by Howard, played by John Goodman, who convinces her that the world above has been devastated by an alien invasion. Made on a modest $15 million budget, it went on to earn $108 million worldwide, a notable success unlike Trachtenberg's more recent Predator: Badlands, which took just $184.6 million against a $105 million budget despite strong reception, scoring 86% with critics and 94% with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.
