14 exciting pictures taking a closer look at Skyline’s plans for old Ski Village site – thestar.co.uk

Skyline Enterprises has released new visualisations for its proposed redevelopment of Sheffield’s former Ski Village at Parkwood Springs. The plans matter because they could turn a long-derelict site into a major outdoor leisure destination, potentially attracting visitors, creating jobs and supporting the wider regeneration of the area.

The New Zealand-based company expects to submit a planning application later in 2026 and says development would be delivered in phases. The initial proposals include a gravity-powered downhill luge, a family playground, food and drink facilities and an indoor attraction; a zipline, surf-wave experience and possible dry ski slopes are longer-term options. The site is about one mile north of Sheffield city centre and has seen several unsuccessful redevelopment proposals since the Ski Village closed.
