15 Years Later, Ned Stark’s Greatest Game of Thrones’s Line Is Still the Boldest Quote in Fantasy History

Fifteen years after *Game of Thrones* premiered, Ned Stark’s most defining line still captures what sets him apart: his unwavering commitment to honour. The article argues that this quality makes him one of the series’ most memorable characters, even though he appears only in its first season.

In season one, Ned warns Cersei that he will reveal the truth about her children’s parentage, while offering her a chance to escape with them. He also conceals Jon Snow’s identity to protect him, despite the personal cost. Ned’s trust in Littlefinger and refusal to abandon his principles lead to his execution, which sets off years of conflict in Westeros.
