2022’s Beloved Survival Adventure ‘Stranded Deep’ Is Free This Weekend

Stranded Deep, the open-world survival game, is free to play on Steam until 1 p.m. ET on 19 October, giving players a chance to try it this weekend. Its mix of island survival, crafting and co-operative play has attracted a substantial following since it entered Early Access in 2015.

Players must manage health, hunger and thirst, avoid sunstroke, and build tools and shelter while waiting to be rescued. The game has more than 20,000 Steam reviews and a Mostly Positive score, with 74% positive ratings, though some recent players report bugs and problems with local co-op. Its full Steam release was in 2022; Beam Team Games announced a sequel last month, set in a desert river world and planned for Early Access in 2027.
