The developers announced the change on X, citing personal health reasons, and confirmed that English will continue to support the project in an advisory capacity. Her departure is notable given her recent high-profile industry recognition and strong association with the game's lead character prior to launch.

According to the developers, English informed the team of her decision last month but stayed involved during the transition, helping identify a replacement voice actress alongside other members of the cast. A new performer has now been cast to take over the role of Gwendolyn, with her portrayal set to be revealed publicly through the game's demo at Gamescom 2026 and in subsequent promotional material.
