– Van Halen's "When It's Love" appears on the OU812 album alongside hits "Black And Blue" and "Finish What Ya Started", and was co-written by all four band members.
– Steve Winwood's "Don't You Know What The Night Can Do", from his Roll With It album, spent two weeks at No. 1 and was later used in a Michelob beer advert, which Winwood joked made it sound like he'd written a jingle.
– Foreigner's "I Don't Want To Live Without You", from Inside Information, was written solely by Mick Jones in a single evening at the piano and stands as one of the band's last major hits.
