The leaders behind Lies of P say the success of the 2023 action role-playing game has created pressure to make its sequel better. They view that expectation as a reason to raise the quality of the follow-up, rather than simply repeat what worked before.

Lies of P, developed by South Korean studio Neowiz and Round8 Studio, reimagined Pinocchio as a dark Soulslike and was widely praised for its combat, setting and polish. Its planned sequel is expected to expand on the original’s ideas, although the developers have not announced a release date or detailed its gameplay.
