The PlayStation App offers several useful ways to manage a PS5 remotely, including shopping, preparing games to play and organising storage. These features can save time when away from the console and make it easier to share captures or keep track of games.

Users can browse and wishlist PlayStation Store titles, buy them and start downloads remotely; they can also queue a game to launch, provided the PS5 is in rest mode with network access enabled. The app shows console storage use and lets users delete games, though it cannot remove individual game components. It also displays manually captured screenshots and videos under three minutes from the past two weeks, which can be downloaded or shared from a phone.
