7 Best Dark Comedy Sitcoms of All Time, Ranked

The article ranks seven dark comedy sitcoms that find humour in flawed people, painful experiences and disastrous choices. It argues that these shows matter because they turn subjects such as disappointment, grief and moral failure into comedy while still showing the human feelings beneath the satire.

The excerpt describes *Party Down*, about struggling entertainment hopefuls working as caterers, and *Search Party*, which begins with a Brooklyn woman searching for a missing acquaintance and grows into a satire of narcissism and performative concern. *Party Down* had two original seasons and a one-season revival; *Search Party* ran for five seasons. The article frames both as examples of comedy built around discomfort rather than likeable characters or happy endings.
