Tickets for the 2027 edition of 70,000 Tons Of Metal, billed as the world's biggest heavy metal cruise, went on general sale on Monday 7 September, with 30 of the planned 60-band lineup confirmed so far. The event matters to fans as one of the genre's most distinctive live experiences, blending festival-style performances with cruise-ship entertainment and close artist access in a fixed, at-sea setting rather than a conventional venue.

The 15th edition will depart Miami on 14 January aboard Royal Caribbean's Freedom Of The Seas, sailing to Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic before returning on 18 January, with capacity for around 3,000 attendees. Confirmed acts include Arch Enemy, Exodus, former Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth and Moonspell, while Finnish band Wolfheart will premiere tracks from an unannounced new studio album at a special listening event. Organisers say the cruise offers round-the-clock entertainment, meet-and-greets with every band, and artist-hosted activities alongside the main performances.
