Linda Perhacs, the 82-year-old psychedelic folk singer-songwriter, has been reported missing by friends and former collaborators, who say they have been unable to reach her for around eight months since she was discharged from a residential care facility into the care of her legal guardian. Former manager Laurel Stearns, along with musicians Julia Holter and Mark "Frosty" McNeill, and director Jessica Hundley, issued a public plea on social media, stressing they are not alleging wrongdoing but simply want confirmation that Perhacs is safe and well cared for.

Producer Fernando Perdomo, who has worked with Perhacs, said he remained in contact with her while she was in a memory care home but lost touch about six weeks ago after she was moved out by her next of kin, who has since stopped responding to calls. California privacy law prevents authorities from disclosing her whereabouts to concerned parties, though a report has now been filed with Adult Protective Services. Perhacs, discovered by composer Leonard Rosenman while working as a dental hygienist, released her acclaimed debut album Parallelograms in 1970, followed by The Soul of All Natural Things in 2014 and I'm a Harmony in 2017.
