Collider · 1 month ago

The independent Western *Old Henry* matched the Netflix viewership of *F9: The Fast Saga* in the week of 6–12 July, despite being made for a fraction of the blockbuster’s budget. The comparison highlights how streaming can give low-budget films comparable audience reach to major franchise releases once they are available on the same platform.

Both films recorded 3.9 million views, but *F9* ranked higher because its 143-minute running time generated 9.4 million viewing hours, compared with 6.4 million for the 99-minute *Old Henry*. *Old Henry* reportedly cost $1.5 million to make, while *F9* had a reported $225 million budget; both were originally released in cinemas in 2021. Netflix’s chart was led by *Enola Holmes 3*, which drew 12 million views in its second week after 20 million in its debut week.

  • *Old Henry* matched *F9* with 3.9 million Netflix views.
  • The Western cost far less than the action blockbuster.
  • *F9* ranked higher due to its longer running time.
