The Helper, a 27-year-old technology and gaming forum, is closing after its administrator decided the site no longer fits their priorities. Its closure matters because it removes a long-running online hub for Warcraft 3 modders and a substantial archive of community knowledge.

The forum’s Warcraft 3 world-editor section contains more than 100,000 threads and approximately 859,700 comments, with its oldest identified post dating from July 2002. The administrator said the site will be archived and its content retained, but it will no longer be promoted or indexed by forums, bots or search engines; the site also hosted sections on Atari, world news, artificial intelligence and other topics.
