Broadway is New York’s main commercial theatre district, where productions earn money from ticket sales. Weekly box office figures show how much shows took in and how many people attended; a sell-out means all available seats were sold for a performance.
Hamilton is a musical about the early years of the United States, while A Few Good Men and Other Desert Cities are plays returning in new Broadway productions. Christopher Jackson, who originated a role in Hamilton, is among the performers associated with the show.
These figures offer a snapshot of demand across Broadway, but one strong week does not show how a production will fare over time. Season totals provide a wider comparison, including whether the industry is keeping pace with the previous year.
