Students across Yorkshire celebrated improved A-Level, T-Level and Btec results, alongside a record number of UK 18-year-olds securing their first-choice university places. The results matter because they show continued progress in regional attainment and opened routes to higher education for pupils who had worked through personal and academic challenges.

In Yorkshire and the Humber, 25.7% of A-Level entries received A or A*, up from 25.3% in 2025 and 23.2% in 2019; 78.1% achieved at least a C, compared with 76.8% last year. At Selby College, twins Nancie and Molly Broadhead gained places at Cambridge and Newcastle respectively, while Leeds student Libby Fernley achieved four A*s and a Cambridge place despite serious illness during her studies. Barnsley twins Sienna and Jayden Zdubek also credited studying together for their high grades.
