A modder has brought No Man’s Sky-style seamless takeoffs to Starfield, and even in beta they look pretty great
A modder has added a No Man's Sky-style seamless takeoff sequence to Starfield, letting players fly from a planet's surface into orbit without the usual loading screen transition. The mod, still in beta, replaces Bethesda's default cut between ground and space travel with a continuous flight animation, addressing one of the more commonly criticised aspects of the game's immersion since its 2023 release.
Although the feature is not yet finished, early footage shared by the modder shows the effect working convincingly, giving a glimpse of how much smoother interplanetary travel could feel once complete. The mod remains a work in progress, but its current state has been well received as a promising step towards a more seamless Starfield experience.
