Google has announced a batch of new features rolling out to Android devices in September, headlined by an update to its Find Hub app that lets users track the location of everyday belongings using the Gemini AI assistant, without needing a compatible smart tag or accessory. Users will be able to tell Gemini where they've put an item, such as a passport, complete with an optional photo, and later ask the assistant to recall its location. The move builds on Google's push to make Gemini a more central, conversational layer across Android, and could prove particularly useful for people who frequently misplace important items.

The Find Hub memory feature requires Android 16 or newer in regions where Gemini and Find Hub are supported. Android 17 devices also gain "Motion Assist," an overlay of moving bubbles designed to reduce motion sickness in vehicles, which can be customised or set to activate automatically. A "Guided vision" feature for visually impaired users, compatible with Android 9 and up, lets people share their camera feed with Gemini Live so it can describe surroundings, read signs or menus, and help locate objects. Separately, Google is rolling out Keep note integration within Google Messages for shared, editable lists, alongside new customisable conversation themes.
