My Hero Academia is set to release a new anime short, "I Am a Hero Too," on streaming platforms on 3 August, as part of the franchise's 10th-anniversary celebrations. The short adapts a bonus chapter from Kohei Horikoshi's final data book, My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book, and follows a companion special episode called "More," which extended the anime's original ending. Together, the releases show the franchise continuing to expand even after its main story concluded, offering fans further closure for beloved characters.

The new short focuses on Eri, the young girl rescued by Izuku Midoriya (Deku) during the Shie Hassaikai arc after suffering abuse at the hands of the villain Overhaul, who exploited her rare Rewind Quirk. Now a high-school student mentored by Kyoka Jiro and aspiring to be a musician, Eri invites the heroes who helped her to her debut street performance. Though based on source material only around five pages long, the short is intended to give her character emotional closure and celebrate her growth and independence.
