A New Space for Electronic Music, ORIGIN Los Angeles, Will Open Soon in Downtown L.A.

Billboard · 3 hours ago

A new electronic music venue called Origin Los Angeles is set to open in the Downtown L.A. Arts District in late summer or early autumn this year. An extension of the industrial event space at 613 Imperial Street—frequently used by Insomniac Events and other promoters—Origin will be an indoor/outdoor venue built specifically for electronic music, hosting everything from intimate club nights to art, cultural and community events. Its opening adds a dedicated, purpose-designed space to the city's electronic music scene.

The venue is a project from Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar, the pair behind L.A. nightlife brands SBCLTR and Minimal Effort and events such as Labryinto, Brunch Electronik, The Maze, Float and Resolutions. Programming will see Fridays focus on top-tier and indie electronic bookings, while Saturdays alternate between daytime outdoor experiences and late-night house and techno. Origin was designed by Marc Dizon, whose past credits include New York's Brooklyn Mirage and Output, and will feature a custom analog KV2 Audio system, with branding by Super Evil Genius Group. Line-ups are still to be announced.
