Jurors in Beau Lamarre-Condon’s double-murder trial have been shown messages and social-media evidence concerning his relationship with Jesse Baird before the alleged killings of Baird and Luke Davies on 19 February. Baird accused Lamarre-Condon of lying, accessing his phone and posting Instagram stories that falsely suggested they were dating, before asking him to stop contacting him; Lamarre-Condon denied the allegations.

The court also heard that Lamarre-Condon allegedly spent more than $1,700 at Bunnings, Decathlon and Kmart between 17 and 22 February, buying items including tarpaulins, gloves, cleaning supplies, tools, protective clothing, a wheelbarrow, a shovel, concrete and a chainsaw. Receipts show purchases at Sydney-area stores beginning about five hours after the alleged murders, with further transactions over the following days; the prosecution is presenting the purchases as part of the evidence being examined by the jury.
