Lynette Howell Taylor has been re-elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a second consecutive one-year term, running through 2026-2027 as the organisation approaches its 100th anniversary. The producer, best known for "A Star Is Born", was confirmed alongside a full slate of officer positions elected by the Academy's Board, with CEO Bill Kramer thanking her and fellow officers for their commitment to the organisation and the global film community. Because Howell Taylor has already served two terms as governor, she will sit as an ex officio voting board member for the duration of her presidency, under rules allowing sitting presidents to serve up to four consecutive terms.

Also re-elected as officers were Lesley Barber (Membership Committee chair), Jennifer Fox (Awards Committee chair), Lou Diamond Phillips (Equity and Inclusion Committee chair) and Howard A. Rodman (vice president/secretary and Governance Committee chair), while David Dinerstein takes on his first officer role as vice president/treasurer and Finance Committee chair. Howell Taylor, a Producers Branch member since 2014, has produced more than 25 films including "Roofman", the "Accountant" films, "Blue Valentine" and "Captain Fantastic", and previously produced the Emmy-nominated 92nd Oscars telecast. Looking ahead, the Academy's awards calendar includes the Governors Awards on 15 November, Oscars shortlist voting from 7-11 December, nominations voting in January 2027, and the 99th Oscars ceremony on 14 March 2027, hosted by Conan O'Brien.
