A Star Wars Galaxies community server was allegedly hacked with AI assistance by a Reddit moderator harboring a primeval grudge

PC Gamer · 3 hours ago

Star Wars Galaxies Legends, a community-run server for the defunct MMO, says a Reddit moderator allegedly used AI tools to decrypt its client-side game asset files. The server says this exposed custom content such as items and questlines, raising concerns that its work could be copied by rival servers. No player data or personal information was reportedly accessed.

The alleged hacker, known as Levarris or levarrishawk, confirmed aspects of the accusation and said the action stemmed from a dispute dating back about 14 years. They argued that people later involved with Legends had previously obtained and withheld development tools from the wider fan community. Legends says the files have been offered to other servers, though it has not confirmed that anyone accepted them.
