A triumph of love over evil: Hamas hostage Emily Damari marries influencer girlfriend in Tel Aviv
Former British-Israeli hostage Emily Damari has married Israeli food influencer Danielle Amit in Tel Aviv, following Damari’s release from Hamas captivity in January 2025. The wedding was presented as a personal milestone after her abduction and 471-day ordeal, attended by family, friends and several former hostages.
Damari, 30, was kidnapped from her kibbutz during the 7 October 2023 attacks and suffered gunshot injuries, including the loss of two fingers. She met Amit, 36, after her release; the couple publicly confirmed their relationship in June and became engaged the following January. They exchanged vows beneath a chuppah after a family dinner, with their dog Mayo present, before a larger celebration.
