Action Xtreme Expands Into U.K., Ireland Distribution With John Hannah-Starring ‘Bad Day at the Office’ (Exclusive)

The Hollywood Reporter · 5 hours ago

Action Xtreme, a UK-based production studio, is entering the film distribution business for the UK and Ireland, launching with the John Hannah-led thriller "Bad Day at the Office". The move marks a significant expansion for the company beyond production, positioning it to also acquire other commercially oriented action and genre titles, alongside its existing production slate, talent development schemes and a new MA in Action Filmmaking with Falmouth University.

"Bad Day at the Office", directed by Chee Keong Cheung and co-starring Radha Mitchell, is a first-person-perspective action thriller shot using GoPro cameras, following an amnesiac man who wakes to find a body and assassins pursuing him. It will have its UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in August, opening the Midnight Madness strand, before a nationwide UK and Ireland cinema release in October. Action Xtreme's co-CEOs Chee Keong Cheung and Andreas Roald described distribution as a key part of the company's strategy, which has previously included the Netflix Africa hit "Son of the Soil" and has the upcoming "The Experiment", starring Rhona Mitra and Famke Janssen, in the pipeline.
