Actress Katherine Kelly has recorded names for a Barnsley installation honouring people who served in the Armed Forces. The project aims to keep their memory present in the town by having the names whispered from its three Yorkshire Rose sculptures, which will be illuminated in red.

More than 2,000 people commemorated on Barnsley war memorials and honour rolls are included. Kelly, who was born in Barnsley, recorded the names at the Lamproom Theatre alongside local veterans, including councillors. The installation runs from 7 to 14 November, with its first showing at 18:30 on 7 November; later displays include audio-only sessions at 08:30 and full sessions at 16:30 and 18:30.
