Massachusetts acupuncturist indicted over deaths of two children
A grand jury has indicted Massachusetts acupuncturist Janette MacAusland, 49, on two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her children, Kai, seven, and Ella, six. Prosecutors allege she strangled them at the family’s Wellesley home in April; the case will move to Norfolk County Superior Court.
The children were believed to have died on or about 22 April, according to the indictments. Police say MacAusland went to her aunt’s home in Vermont, where she was arrested on 24 April after telling her aunt she had killed the children. The article says she and the children’s father were in a bitter divorce and custody dispute; she remains held without bail, and an arraignment date has not been set. If convicted, she faces life in prison without parole.
