Adam Driver Confirms ‘Heat 2’ Villain Role, Shares Michael Mann Update After Accidental Shooting
Adam Driver has confirmed he will play antagonist Otis Wardell in Michael Mann’s Heat 2, and said the 83-year-old director is recovering after accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a Los Angeles gun range. Driver said Mann replied to his message and was back at work the following day, offering an update as the director prepares the follow-up to his 1995 crime thriller.
Mann’s representative described the injury as superficial and said he had been treated and was being released. Heat 2 is based on Mann’s 2022 novel, which continues and precedes the original story; Driver said he expects to join the production in early December, with filming due to start early next year. Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Stephen Graham have also reportedly joined the cast.
