Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that Adam Driver has repeatedly turned down offers to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, joking that it has become a studio "tradition" for executives to hold a Zoom call with the actor before he politely declines. Feige made the comments on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, noting that while Marvel would still like to work with Driver, he is consistently upfront and cordial when passing on roles. The disclosure fuels ongoing speculation about the actor's reluctance to take on a major superhero franchise despite already being a huge box-office draw.

Driver is best known for playing Kylo Ren/Ben Solo across three "Star Wars" films, which may explain his selectivity about adding another blockbuster franchise to his résumé. Feige did not specify which Marvel roles Driver has turned down, and denied that any casting decisions have been made for the studio's upcoming "X-Men" reboot, despite online rumours linking Driver to the role of Magneto. Separately, Driver has previously spoken of his disappointment that Disney executives, including Bob Iger, rejected a proposed "Star Wars" sequel he developed with director Steven Soderbergh, "The Hunt for Ben Solo".
