AEG Presents has confirmed a new partnership with Creativeman Productions, one of Japan's leading concert promotion and live events companies, announced on Tuesday (11 August). The deal aims to create new opportunities for artists to reach audiences across Japan while expanding the reach of AEG's ticketing platform, AXS, within the country, and links Creativeman's flagship Summer Sonic festival with AEG's wider international portfolio, including Coachella in the US and BST Hyde Park in the UK.
Creativeman's portfolio spans Summer Sonic, held across Tokyo and Osaka, alongside Sonicmania, Greenroom Festival, Loud Park and Springroove. Creativeman CEO Naoki Shimizu, recently named one of Billboard's Global Power Players, said the company has grown from just two staff members into Asia's largest independent music promoter over 37 years, and that the partnership would support further expansion of its festivals and artists across Asia and beyond, including a recent push into Bangkok. Shawn Trell, AEG Presents' executive vice president and chief operating officer, said Creativeman's vision aligned closely with AEG's own strategy.

New here? Start with this
Creativeman Productions is one of Japan's biggest independent concert and festival promoters, best known for organising Summer Sonic, the annual music festival held in Tokyo and Osaka, along with several smaller events. AEG Presents is a large American live entertainment company that promotes concerts and festivals worldwide, including Coachella in the US and BST Hyde Park in London, and also runs the ticketing platform AXS.
The two companies have agreed to work together, a deal intended to help artists reach more fans in Japan, bring AEG's AXS ticketing system into the Japanese market, and connect Creativeman's festivals with AEG's wider international network of events. Such partnerships are common in the live music industry, where promoters in different countries link up to share resources, artists and audiences.
The story matters because it signals closer ties between the Japanese and international live music markets, potentially affecting how tickets are sold and how artists tour in the region.
