Copeland had publicly named the Mexico City arena, alongside Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens and the Tokyo Dome, as a bucket-list venue he hoped to compete in, making the appearance a significant personal milestone in this stage of his career.

Copeland got his chance on 5 August when AEW staged Grand Slam Mexico at the arena, where he took part in an eight-man tag team match alongside Christian. Reflecting on the experience with Fox News Digital, he described feeling "very blessed and lucky" at the scale of the crowd's response, underlining how meaningful performing at the iconic venue was for him.
