Saber Interactive has added a generative-AI disclosure to the Steam page for its forthcoming driving game, Rideshare Stimulator, after a public dispute with former lead writer Stella Sacco. The move confirms AI will be used in an experimental free-ride mode and matters because it follows criticism that the game’s previous Steam listing did not disclose its use of the technology.

Sacco says she was removed from the project in favour of ChatGPT during development, while Saber denies replacing writers with AI and says the game’s story script was written by people. CEO Matt Karch has nevertheless defended the technology, arguing that AI can and should help shape player experiences, particularly where the game must generate interactions with an effectively unlimited number of passengers; Saber has more than 3,000 employees.
