After laying off Battlefield 6 devs, EA boss Andrew Wilson’s bonus rose $8m to $38m last year, thanks to the game’s success across “all milestones”

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson received a $38.7m bonus for the 2026 financial year, an $8m increase, with the company citing strong performance from games including Battlefield 6, which "achieved meeting all milestones for a high-quality launch". The payout, revealed in EA's mandatory 10K filing, comes in the same financial year that the company laid off staff at multiple Battlefield studios, raising questions about the contrast between executive rewards and job losses among developers.

Other senior EA executives also received large sums: chief financial officer Stuart Canfield got around $11.3m, president Laura Miele received $13.7m, chief people officer Mala Singh got $8.3m, and chief legal officer Jacob Schatz took home $8.4m. The filing also credited EA Sports FC, Skate and EA Sports American Football with meeting or exceeding targets, alongside a "bold" AI strategy involving new partnerships and a Gen AI investment framework. The layoffs, affecting Criterion, Dice, Ripple Effect and Motive Studios, were announced in March, with EA saying the changes aligned teams around community priorities. Such detailed financial disclosures may end once EA's pending Saudi-backed leveraged buyout completes and the company goes private, removing the requirement to publish 10K reports.
