Mexican-American singer and actress Lucero is releasing new music that marks a fresh musical direction after nearly 50 years in the industry, venturing for the first time into the sierreño and tumbado sub-genres of regional Mexican music. The move comes as part of a forthcoming album, Fuertes Declaraciones, and reflects her stated desire to "innovate and dare to do something different" while remaining rooted in the Mexican music that has run through her career alongside her pop stardom.

The album's title track, released on 30 July, is the first of 14 songs due out under label Seitrack, with the full record scheduled for February 2027; Lucero plans to unveil one new song each month until then. The LP will feature three cover versions, three collaborations (with Majo Aguilar, Joss Favela and Los Ángeles Azules) and eight original tracks. Across her career, which began at age 10 as a child actress and age 13 as a recording artist, Lucero has placed 16 songs on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart and 11 albums on the Top Latin Albums chart, and is soon to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
