After PvE vs. PvP, MW4 DMZ players are arguing about a possibly overpowered operator trait

Destructoid ·

Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ mode has prompted debate over Possum, an operator trait that lets a player return to life once per match with no time limit. Supporters say it makes the extraction mode more forgiving, particularly for solo players, while critics argue that an opponent returning during or after a fight can make encounters frustrating and unpredictable.

Possum sits near the top of the Warfighter operator tree, and every squad member can equip it; players may also revive fallen teammates. Returning can save the cost of an operator rescue, though players are likely to lose their carried gear. DMZ has already seen a quick fix for an infinite UAV exploit, and its developers say PvE remains possible while they are content with the launch balance; as a live-service game, traits such as Possum could still be adjusted.

In short

  • Possum grants one untimed return to life per match.
  • Players disagree over whether it helps or disrupts fights.
  • Developers could still tune the live-service mode.
