Wreckreation 2 has been announced for PS5 and other platforms, a surprise follow-up to a 2024 open-world arcade racer that was widely seen as underwhelming. The game comes from newly formed studio When Tides Turn, which appears to be largely the same development team behind the original, and shifts focus back towards core arcade racing rather than the first game's world-editing "Live Mix" feature.

The announcement trailer shows a Burnout-style cityscape setting with an emphasis on chaotic racing action, in contrast to the original's rough handling and criticised "soulless" open world. When Tides Turn plans to involve the community early, offering Patreon supporters access to PC playtests to help shape the game ahead of release, though no firm release date or full platform list has been confirmed.
