Turkish producer Ay Yapim has launched the AI-generated historical drama “Castle Walls” on Prime Video, describing it as the first series made end-to-end with artificial intelligence to receive a worldwide release on a major global streaming platform. The launch matters because it presents a high-profile test of AI-led television production while seeking to address concerns about copyright, voice work and the role of human performers.

The series comprises three 15-minute episodes about Iran’s Alamut Castle, a fortress also known from Ubisoft’s “Assassin’s Creed Mirage”. It was produced by Ay Yapim’s Singapore-based AI Yapim subsidiary using in-house systems trained solely on the company’s licensed catalogue, alongside tools including ChatGPT, MidJourney, Runway and others. Ay Yapim said the dubbing uses human voice artists and that acting performances are not AI-generated.
