The BBC comedy *Daddy Issues* has been renewed for a third and final season, with Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey returning in the lead roles. The six-part series will conclude the story of Gemma Moscrip and her father Malcolm, whose relationship has been central to the show. The announcement matters because the programme has been a notable success for BBC Three, described as the channel’s biggest comedy launch since the start of 2022.

The final season is set 18 months after series two, with Gemma promoted at the hair salon and her daughter Sadie now in nursery. The plot will follow Gemma as she considers the possibility of love, only for a romantic encounter to disrupt her more settled life and push her back towards old chaos. Fremantle will handle global sales, while BBC executives said audiences had strongly connected with the characters and praised the show’s sharp comic voice.
