An airport worker at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport was left in a critical condition after being run over by a passenger jet on the tarmac. The signaller was rushed to hospital on Monday night, with police suggesting the aircraft may have been reversing at the time of the accident. The incident, which occurred shortly before a flight to Paris was due to depart, has prompted an investigation by Canada's Transportation Safety Board.

The accident happened at around 7.30pm, and a witness told Radio Canada she saw a man pass beneath the moving plane. The aircraft involved belonged to French Bee, which had been scheduled to depart at 6pm but did not take off until after midnight. Airport officials confirmed emergency measures were deployed but said operations continued, advising passengers to check with their airline. French Bee said the exact circumstances remain unclear and that it is cooperating fully with Canadian authorities.
