SAG-AFTRA is the US union representing actors and other media professionals. Its Life Achievement Award recognises a performer’s career and humanitarian work, as well as their contribution to the ideals of the acting profession.
Al Pacino is an American actor known for roles in films such as The Godfather, Dog Day Afternoon and Scent of a Woman. He has also worked in theatre and television, winning awards across all three.
The award reflects both his work as a performer and his support for charitable and advocacy efforts, including the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles. It is one of the ways the union recognises contributions to the profession beyond individual performances.
