Alabama Shakes have announced I Must Be Dreaming, their first album in 11 years, which will be released on 28 August via Island. The record follows the trio's 2015 LP Sound & Color and marks a significant return for the band, who reunited for a surprise live set in December 2024 and have been touring intermittently since. The next single, "I Feel Hope Coming", is due out this Friday, joining the previously released tracks "American Dream" and "Another Life".

Singer Brittany Howard said the title carries a double meaning, reflecting both how "crazy" and how "incredibly beautiful" the world can feel at once. The 11-track album from Howard, Heath Fogg and Zac Cockrell includes songs such as "Tea Time", "Garden" and "Tied To You". The band's current tour runs through to the end of September, taking in European festival dates as well as North American shows, some co-headlined with the Tedeschi Trucks Band and featuring guests including Mavis Staples.
