Alan Jackson Announces a Joyful New Family Milestone After Closing the Curtain on His Career
Country music star Alan Jackson has announced the arrival of his fifth grandchild, marking a happy family milestone shortly after bringing his touring career to a close. On Friday 10 July, the singer revealed that he and his wife, Denise, had welcomed a grandson, Samuel Hudson Carrington (known as Hudson), born on 9 July to Jackson's youngest daughter, Dani, and her husband, Sam. The news caps a year of significant moments for the 67-year-old, who recently played his final major concert.
Jackson has three married daughters — Mattie, Alexandra (Ali) and Dani — and now has five grandchildren, including three grandsons and two granddaughters. His second granddaughter, Parker Anne Bradshaw, was born on 8 April, following earlier arrivals including his first grandson, Jackson Alvie Bradshaw, in December 2022. On 27 June, Jackson performed his final show, "Last Call: One More For The Road – The Finale", at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, joined by guests such as George Strait, Miranda Lambert and Luke Combs. Diagnosed around five years ago with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a degenerative nerve condition, he donated $1 from every ticket to the CMT Research Foundation; the concert will air on NBC later this year and on Peacock the following day.
