Alan Ritchson’s action thriller Motor City is due to open widely in US cinemas on 24 July 2026, following festival screenings in Venice and Toronto. The R-rated film continues Ritchson’s recent run of prominent action roles and pairs him with Shailene Woodley in a revenge story set in 1970s Detroit.

Ritchson plays John Miller, who is framed and imprisoned after falling for a gangster’s girlfriend, then seeks revenge on the man responsible. Distributed by Independent Film Company, Motor City runs for 103 minutes; the project had previously stalled through several earlier versions before Ritchson joined in 2023 and Potsy Ponciroli became director in 2024.
