Amazon MGM Studios has promoted Alana Mayo to share the role of head of film, production and development with Julie Rapaport. The change gives the studio two leaders for a film operation that now releases more than 30 titles a year, while keeping its creative teams working across the full slate.
Each executive will oversee about 15 films annually, spanning theatrical and streaming releases. Rapaport, who joined the studio in 2015 and became head of movies in 2022, will continue in her role; Mayo will also remain in charge of Orion Pictures, which she has led since 2020. Both report to Courtenay Valenti, who said production and development staff will work with both executives rather than being split into separate teams.
- Alana Mayo will share film leadership with Julie Rapaport.
- Each will oversee roughly 15 films a year.
- Orion Pictures remains under Mayo’s leadership.
