Alarm bells for JD Vance as devastating new poll has Democrat who swears he’s NOT running crushing him

Daily Mail ·

A new Emerson College Polling survey shows Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff leading Vice President JD Vance by five points in a hypothetical 2028 presidential matchup, despite Ossoff repeatedly insisting he has no interest in running and is focused solely on his Senate re-election campaign. The finding is notable partly because Ossoff recently gained national attention for a viral jab at Donald Trump over aide Natalie Harp, fuelling speculation about his political future even as he denies any presidential ambitions.

The poll of 1,000 likely voters, conducted 16-17 August with a margin of error of plus or minus three points, put Ossoff ahead of Vance 49% to 44%, though his lead narrowed to three points against Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Other Democrats tested included Pete Buttigieg, who matched Ossoff's five-point lead over Vance, Gavin Newsom, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Kamala Harris, with results varying depending on the Republican opponent. The survey also found Trump's approval rating at 40% against 56% disapproval, the economy as voters' top concern (37%), and 23% of respondents identifying as supporters of the Democratic Socialists of America.
